The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is providing special weekly updates on the status of the economic stimulus legislation.
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, formed in
2005, integrates planning for land use and transportation
in the seven counties of northeastern Illinois. It combines
the region's two previously separate transportation and land-use
planning organizations - Chicago Area Transportation Study
(CATS) and the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC)
- into a single agency. It updates citizens about
ARRA through a blog - Regional Response to the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act.
The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties, and the City of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer counties in New Jersey. A webpage - Stimulus Funds Approved - provides information about the funding distribution and includes links to the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, NJDOT, and PennDOT recovery websites.
The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) has a website on Federal Economic Recovery Funding. The page includes links to funded project status and state and federal information on funding.
The San Francisco East Bay Municipal Utilities District
(EBMUD) has developed a list of candidate projects for economic
stimulus funding and issued in report format.
The East-West Gateway Council of Government is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the City of St. Louis; Jefferson, Franklin, St. Charles and St. Louis Counties in Missouri; and Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair Counties in Illinois. The MPO has an Infrastructure Projects and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 webpage with links to documents, presentations and other information that staff compiled and that were discussed and acted upon by East-West Gateway’s Board of Directors at its February 2009 meeting.
The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), the MPO for the metropolitan Phoenix area, has a webpage dedicated to ARRA. It provides links to information on State ARRA funds and projects in the MAG Region, MAG sub-allocated ARRA funds, transit ARRA funds in the MAG Region, presentations to the MAG council and committees, and additional resources.
The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency serving the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area. Its webpage on ARRA includes information on who decides where the money goes, how the project selection process works, and the guiding principles for selecting projects. The Metropolitan Council’s homepage includes a link to the Council and Transportation Advisory Board meetings about allocation of federal stimulus dollars.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the transportation planning, coordinating and financing agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. Its ARRA website includes information on San Francisco Bay Area project funding details, the regional ARRA expenditure plan, the proposal for State ARRA funding, a template for project sponsor’s resolution of local support, and links to FHWA and FTA ARRA websites.
The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments has created a webpage to track transportation projects in the metropolitan Washington, DC region that are receiving stimulus funding. Any amendments to the current FY 2009-2014 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that are receiving federal stimulus funds are listed.
In a March 13, 2009 press release, the New Jersey Transportation
Planning Authority, the metropolitan planning organization
for 13 northern New Jersey counties, announces its list of "ready
to go" projects to be funded by ARRA funds. Included
in the press release is a link to the project
list approved for stimulus funding March 13, 2009.
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council, the metropolitan
planning organization for New York City, Long Island, and
the lower Hudson Valley, includes links to the ARRA candidate
projects for New York City, Lower Hudson Valley, and Long
Island on its main webpage.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG)
serves a 16-county
region of North Central Texas that is centered around
the two urban centers of Dallas and Fort Worth. Its website
includes a copy of the PowerPoint presentation titled "American
Recovery and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009:
Dallas-Fort Worth Partnership" that was presented at
the Regional Transportation Council Economic Recovery Workshop
on March 5, 2009.
The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), the regional body representing the central Puget Sound counties (King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap), cities, and towns, has a webpage about Federal Economic Recovery Funding. The website includes links to information about Federal Transit Administration funded projects, Federal Highway Administration funded projects, PSRC's process, the National American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the State’s ARRA response, and background materials.
The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), the MPO for the San Diego region, has on its website a news story about the recommended program for spending ARRA funds. It also includes a link to transportation committee agenda item #11, which outlines the status and programming recommendations.
The Southeastern Michigan Council of Governments, which is made up of Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties and includes the city of Detroit, has a webpage, Federal Stimulus Package Update for Southeastern Michigan, to inform and update citizens about the stimulus program and funded projects.
The US Conference of Mayors has developed a website for tracking and implementation assistance for the ARRA, including funding deadlines, news from cities and best practices, and obstacles for cities.
